A little about ourselvesWe are second and thrid generation Modelers, I along with my Dad starting flying R/C in 1965 which has turned into a lifetime passion. Kevin who is thrid generation had his first plane at the age of five but really started flying when he was about seven 1989/1990. The picture above is our four year old grandson and nephew who will be the fourth generation!!
In 1990 we purchased a local hobby shop, our Hobby shop was called Radiowave Hobbies, In 1999 we again expanded and purchased JTEC exhaust and accessories. About that time we also got involved in the ARF market and had a line of our designs made in China. They were actually called Radiowave but many people also refered them as JTEC. In 2010 we made the move to bring all our designs home and start making kits here in North Carolina USA. We set the shop up to with the latest CNC equipment, Laser, Router table and CNC foam cutter. In early 2018 we purchased Dalton Aviation |
March 2020
WE ARE OPEN FOR BUSINESS.
It sure has been a couple crazy weeks, I am out on medical due to major back surgery on the 6th and then the coronavirus (covid-19 ) hit everyone. Kevin has taken over the helm while I try and heal. We have been running the office remotly and he has been doing a great job. The phone in the office will not take any messages so please if you would like to contact us do so through our email at [email protected] Production continues as long as we are not restricked and have to remain secluded. Production may take a little longer but we will get it done. Kit business has been on hold because I am not in the office to cut and ship. Currently we have several kits basically ready to pack and ship. If you are interested in a kit let us know as it is a good time for us to stock up on material so we can get right on it when I return to the shop. I do have some help from some friends to cut foam and parts. In the mean time do what you need to to stay safe and healthy. Follow directions and don't think this virus can't hurt you. It may not but it can to others you love. Trust me I have been in lock down since surgery. I am going crazy but as soon as I am able to stand for a few minutes and bend over the bench I am GOING BUILDING. Thank you everyone Al & Kevin November 2019 A lot has been going on since the spring this year. We started working on the Dalton line of planes. What our intention is to basically look at all the kits one at a time and review each design. The Dalton line of kits have a fantastic heritage and our goal is not to change the design but improve the kit with more modern materials and make them easier to build. The first kit we reviewed was the YAK 54. What we thought was basically going to be a few steps ended up being a major overhaul. By changing materials and some of the build techniques we removed 3 pounds out of the fuselage, without sacrificing strength or how it builds. We did a major overhaul on the cowl, it now has a very nice radius on the front for a more scale appearance. The revised version will be ready to fly in a couple weeks. With the YAK 54 done it was just a natural to go ahead and do a YAK 55. The prototype is in construction check fit and doing those little touch ups needed when you draw a new design out. Of course we could not stop there. The Radiowave EXTRA 300 just got a total overhaul. It now builds like the MX and Giles with full balsa sides, foam bottom and hatch plus more refinements. Don't even think we forgot the MEL, Kevin has that under the mouse now!!! |
